Meeting the CPD requirements of different professional regulatory bodies

Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)

Prior to 1 November 2016, the SRA accredited certain training providers to provide CPD to members of their profession. Actuaries for Lawyers has been an accredited provider of pensions on divorce training for 12 years up to this date. From 1 November 2016 onwards, the SRA no longer accredits individual training providers. The emphasis from this date is that individuals maintain their ongoing competence, reflect on their current practice and identify their learning and development needs. Solicitors must then address these needs and make sure their knowledge and skills are up to date and that they are competent to practice. Attendance at one of Actuaries for Lawyers’ Pensions on Divorce seminars provides a useful way in which solicitors working in the divorce area can keep their knowledge and skills up to date on an annual basis helping to achieve their competency requirements.
